Matcon Intermediate Bulk Containers

Intermediate Bulk Container Powder Handling

World-leading IBCs for the processing, storage, and transport of bulk solid materials, powders, granules, and tablets.

Matcon have a range of IBCs to suit a variety of applications. The entire IBC range share the same FOUR key benefits:

  • Resolves Powder Issues
  • High containment
  • Easy to clean
  • Improved efficiency

Stainless Steel IBCs

Designed to meet the highest hygiene and safety requirements, keeping the product free of contaminants.

Suitable for blending, storage and transportation of powders, the range offers IBCs from 500L to 3,500L to match any batch sizes & manufacturing throughput targets.

Each IBC contains their unique Cone Valve technology which protects against the traditional powder handling issues of bridging, ratholing and blend segregation.

IBCs for Pilot Scale Blending

Matcon offers a range of stainless steel pilot-scale IBCs for smaller batches and recipes for small scale production and R&D facilities. These pilot scale IBCs handle volumes from 50–200L and are fitted with casters for safe & easy movement around the production area.

The manual Cone Valve is mounted at the outlet of these IBCs, delivering mass-flow discharge to protect the blend uniformity and prevent ratholing, powder bridging or segregation.

Tablet/Capsule IBCs

Handling tablets in larger batches reduces the labour associated with moving multiple drums & containers and making/breaking numerous connections. It improves OEE rates, inventory control and traceability.

The Matcon Tablet IBCs are designed for the gentle handling of tablets (coated or non-coated) and capsules. A single Tablet IBC can replace multiple drums & offers automatic filling capabilities. This improves productivity, quality and control whilst gently handling tablets & capsules.

Polyethylene IBCs (The R Series)

Not all powders need to be handled in a stainless-steel IBC, so the range of polyethylene IBCs offer a robust & cost-effective alternative while still benefiting from the same Cone Valve technology to discharge under mass-flow, preventing segregation and protecting blend uniformity.

These comprise a polyethylene bottle supported in a painted steel framework. Commonly used in non-food, non-hygienic applications where the use of stainless steel would be unnecessary.
