Happy Birthday to Dudley Bradley, the founder and Executive Chairman for Ytron-Quadro turns 80 today! (20-Sept-2023)
Dudley will be joining us next week on Tuesday at the PPMA Show if you wish to join us to congratulate him on 80 trips around the sun.
Dudley started in the world of processing technology in 1963 when he joined Mason and Morton as a process engineer. Initially selling electron microscope grids but soon moved into sales, commissioning and servicing of Mascarini water distillation stills to a broad range of Pharmaceutical companies.
This led to a move into promoting August Herbort vegetable processing equipment including pea and bean harvesters before his key career move into particle size reduction equipment with Fryma Koruma. This would introduce Dudley to working with customers in the food and cosmetic industries such as Colman foods, Elizabeth Arden, Max Factor and Unilever.
In 1984, after developing a good understanding of the industries, Dudley took the courageous step to branch out on his own and welcomed the challenge of introducing new process technologies to the UK market representing YTRON Process Technology GmbH from Germany and Quadro Engineering Corporation from Canada. Taking inspiration from the names of the 2 key suppliers Dudley chose to call his new company Ytron-Quadro (UK) Limited was born.
During Dudley’s 60 year career (and counting), he has been an active member in a number of industry associations, including the Society of Cosmetic Sciences, the Society of Dairy Technology, the PPMA and the ISPE.
Dudley’s knowledge, enthusiasm and technical sales ability has been recognised by these organisations by receiving both personal and business awards.
Among other awards, he received the Significant Contribution award in 1997 and 2009 from the ISPE and was made ISPE Fellow in 2014. The PPMA had also awarded Dudley with the Denis Pearce Medal in 2001 before he received the Lifetime Achievement award in 2018.
Today, Dudley is still actively working in the company, however, we have allowed him to take the day off to celebrate his 80th Birthday with his wife Elizabeth and a glass of Champagne or two.
