Fine and poor flowing powders can be compacted into densified sheets using dry granulation technology. The LCS and CCS roller compactors by Fitzpatrick use mechanical force between two counterrotating rolls. The densified sheets are then granulated to any desired particle size distribution to increase flowability and efficiency during tableting.
The LCS (Lab Compaction System) is the scalable and benchtop sized R&D roller compactor developed by Fitzpatrick and released in 2022. It has been designed to be suitable for R&D and trial batch production for dry granulation processes.
Roller Compaction uses mechanical pressure to create a densified sheet of material which can be granulated to form a desired particle size, typically to improve other powder characteristics such as flowability.
